Here’s the recipe for a perfectly scrumptious Green Pea Patties;

 

Directions

  • Boil, peel and mash potatoes.
  • Add cornstarch and a little salt.
  • Set aside.
  • Grind peas coarsely.
  • Heat 1 & 1/2 tbsp. oil in a pan.
  • Throw in the mustard seeds.
  • Add asafoetida and peas as the mustard starts crackling.
  • Stir well.
  • Remove from the stove.
  • Let cool.
  • Add salt, raisins, lemon juice, chopped coriander leaves, sesame Seeds, sugar, grated coconut, green chillies and ginger.
  • Make lemon-sized balls of mash potatoes.
  • Hollow out and fill in with the pea mixture.
  • Deep fry on medium flame until golden brown.
  • Serve hot with coriander chutney.
