Description
Sheermal is a mildly sweet saffron-flavored flatbread from Iran. It is served especially with Korma, Nihari, Badami Kofta and other Mughlai dishes. It can be cooked over tawa or baked in the oven. Sheermal is more like occasional food than regular everyday food. You would mostly find it at events, festivals and wedding parties. Sheermal is very popular in Pakistan, Iran, Bangladesh and India.
Here’s the recipe for this Incredibly Delicious Sheermal;
Directions:
- In a bowl, add all ingredients and mix well.
- Knead a soft dough with lukewarm water.
- Leave it for 30-45 min.
- Preheat the oven at 150C.
- Make small balls out of the dough.
- Roll into the shape of roti.
- Brush top with milk.
- Prick top by using a fork. (do not prick the sides)
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10 min or until golden brown.
- Sheermal is ready. Served hot with any gravy dish or with tea.
