Directions:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt and salt, stirring until well-mixed.
  • Line a large sieve with a double layer of cheesecloth or a clean kitchen towel. 
  • Place the sieve over a bowl to catch the liquid.
  • Pour the salted yogurt into the lined sieve, spreading it evenly.
  • Gather the edges of the cheesecloth and tie them securely to form a bundle.
  • Place the bundle in the refrigerator and let it strain for 24-48 hours. 
  • The longer it strains, the thicker the Labneh will become.
  • After straining, transfer the thickened Labneh to a serving dish.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with your favorite toppings, such as za’atar, fresh herbs, chopped olives, or chopped nuts.
