Here’s the recipe for Cheesy and Creamy Macaroni Carbonara;
Directions:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add the macaroni and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.
- Reserve 1 cup of the pasta water, then drain the macaroni.
- While the macaroni cooks, heat a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the diced Bacon and cook until it’s crispy and golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute.
- Remove the skillet from the heat.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, grated Parmesan cheese, and heavy cream (if using).
- Add a generous amount of freshly ground black pepper.
- Return the drained macaroni to the pot.
- Pour the egg mixture over the hot pasta, stirring quickly to create a creamy sauce.
- Add the Bacon and garlic, mixing well to combine.
- If the sauce is too thick, add some reserved pasta water, a little at a time, until you reach the desired consistency.
- Season with additional salt and pepper if needed.
- Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley and extra Parmesan cheese.
