Description
Mana’eesh is a well-known and popular Lebanese-originated Middle Eastern flatbread topped with tangy zaatar and mahleb mixture with rich and savory olive oil. This authentic traditional Mana’eesh may also be topped with cheese or meat to make a scrumptiously delicious and hearty snack or appetizer.
Here’s the recipe for this Super Delicious Traditional Lebanese Mana’eesh;
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Mix flour, salt, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl.
- Gradually add lukewarm water and mix until dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl.
- Cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place (for about 1-2 hours or until doubled in size).
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 4-6 equal parts.
- Roll out each part into a thin circle (about 1/8 inch thick).
- Brush the dough with olive oil and sprinkle with za’atar and mahleb.
- Bake for 15-20 mins or until golden brown and crispy.
