For Corn Tortillas:
2 Cups Corn Flour
1 & ½ Cups Warm Water
½ tsp Salt
For Taco Seasoning Mix:
1 tbsp Red Chili Powder
½ tsp Garlic Powder
½ tsp Onion Powder
½ tsp Dried Oregano
1 tsp Paprika Powder
1 tbsp Cumin Powder
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Black Pepper Powder
½ tsp Red Pepper Flakes optional, for heat
For Tacos:
1 Pound Ground Beef
2 & ½ tbsp Taco Seasoning Mix
⅔ Cup Water
12 Corn Tortillas
1 Cup Lettuce Leaves shredded
1 Cup Tomatoes diced
½ Cup Cheddar Cheese shredded
¼ Cup Onions chopped
¼ Cup Fresh Coriander chopped
2 Lemon cut into wedges
Salsa optional
Sour Cream optional

Tacos are a versatile and beloved staple of Mexican cuisine, perfect for any meal. This taco recipe combines seasoned ground beef with fresh toppings to create a satisfying and flavorful dish. Here’s a simple and delicious recipe to create Mouth-Watering Tacos at home;

 

Directions

For Corn Tortillas:

  • In a large bowl, combine the corn flour and salt. 
  • Gradually add the warm water, mixing with your hands until a soft dough forms. 
  • Knead the dough for about 2 minutes until smooth and pliable. 
  • Cover the dough with a damp cloth for 10 minutes.
  • Divide the dough into 12 equal balls. 
  • Make tortillas by Using a tortilla press or rolling pin.
  • Cook Tortillas on a Preheated griddle or skillet over medium-high heat. 
  • Cook each tortilla for about 1 minute on each side, or until lightly browned and slightly puffy. 
  • Keep the tortillas warm in a towel and set aside.

For Taco Seasoning Mix:

  • Combine all the spices in a small bowl, and mix well.
  • Transfer to an airtight container or a spice jar.
  • Keep aside.

For Tacos:

  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. 
  • Drain excess fat.
  • Add the taco seasoning mix and water to the skillet. 
  • Stir well to combine and simmer for 5 minutes, until the mixture thickens.
  • Off the flame.

Assemble the Tacos:

  • Spoon the seasoned beef into each tortilla. 
  • Top it with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, chopped onions, and fresh coriander.
  • Garnish with lemon wedges. 
  • Add salsa and sour cream if desired.
  • Enjoy.
