6 Cups Water
2 Medium Green Papaya or chayote, peeled and sliced
A Handful Malunggay Leaves moringa leaves or spinach

    Here’s the recipe for Warming and Comforting Tinola; 

     

    Directions:

    • Heat oil in a large pot.
    • Sauté garlic, onion, and ginger until fragrant.
    • Add the chicken and cook until lightly browned.
    • Pour in water and bring to a boil. 
    • Add fish sauce, salt, and pepper.
    • Lower the heat and let it simmer for 30-40 minutes, or until the chicken is tender.
    • Add the sliced papaya or chayote and cook until tender.
    • Stir in the malunggay or spinach leaves and simmer for 2-3 more minutes.
    • Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, then serve hot. 
    • Enjoy with steamed rice!
