2 tbsp Honey or brown sugar
2 tbsp Gochujang Korean chili paste
1 tbsp Sesame Oil

Korean Fried Chicken, also known as “KFC”. It’s a delicious and crispy dish that has gained popularity worldwide. It’s characterized by its crunchy exterior and a savory, slightly sweet glaze that coats the chicken pieces. 

This Korean Fried Chicken recipe offers a delightful balance of flavors with its crispy texture and sweet-spicy glaze, which makes it a perfect dish for any occasion. 

Here’s a unique recipe to make Korean Fried Chicken at home;

 

Directions:

  • In a bowl combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and ginger powder.
  • Coat the chicken pieces with the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot.
  • Fry the chicken in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 8-10 minutes per batch. 
  • Drain on paper towels.
  • In another saucepan combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey or brown sugar, gochujang, and sesame oil. 
  • Cook until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Add and toss the fried chicken in the sauce until evenly coated.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
  • Serve the Korean Fried Chicken hot with your favorite dip or sweet and spicy chili sauce.
