2 tbsp Lemon juice
1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
2 tbsp Olive Oil
1 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Red Chili Powder
1 tsp Cumin Powder
1 tsp Coriander Powder
1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
Acc. To Taste Salt

The term “Dasti” refers to the tender foreleg of the mutton, which is marinated with an array of spices and slow-roasted to perfection. This dish is known for its succulent texture and aromatic flavors, making it a centerpiece at festive gatherings and special occasions.

Here’s the recipe for Satisfying and Mouth-Watering Roasted Mutton Dasti;

 

Directions:

  • In a large bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, olive oil, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. 
  • Mix well to form a smooth paste.
  • Rub the marinade thoroughly onto the mutton foreleg, ensuring it’s evenly coated. 
  • Cover the bowl and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight for deeper flavor.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Place the marinated mutton on a roasting pan. 
  • Cover with aluminum foil and roast in the preheated oven for 1.5 to 2 hours. 
  • Remove the foil in the last 30 minutes to allow the mutton to develop a crispy, golden-brown crust.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
