1 tsp Saffron Strands
1 tbsp Milk
1 inch pc Ginger
6 Cloves Garlic
2 Medium Onions
2 tbsp Poppy-Seeds
1/4 pc Dry Coconut
1 kg Curd whisked
2 tsp Garam masala
2 tsp Coriander Powder
2 tsp Cumin Powder
1 tsp Turmeric Powder
Salt acc. To taste
1 tsp Red Chili Powder
100 gms Almonds blanched and ground
200 gms Ghee\Oil melted
50 grams Mixed Nuts

Directions

  • Soak saffron in milk for 5 mins.
  • Blend ginger, garlic, onions, poppy seeds, and dry coconut to a fine paste.
  • Mix in curd with the garam masala, coriander, cumin, turmeric, salt, chili powder, and almonds.
  • Make deep cuts all over the leg and coat the curd mixture into it.
  • Marinate for 2-4 hours.
  • Place in a large pan and pour the ghee on top.
  • Bake in the oven for 3-4 hrs or until mutton is tender.
  • Transfer to a serving dish.
  • Sprinkle saffron on top and garnish with sliced nuts.
